Bisque Firing in the Whitfield Raku Kiln |
![]() |
There has been an exciting new development with the WHITFIELD KILN. No longer just a RAKU kiln, this kiln is now suitable for a whole range of pottery uses. It is now possible to biscuit fire in the Whitfield kiln in only two and a half-hours. This means that you can biscuit fire and glaze fire in one day. The Whitfield kiln is also capable of reaching earthenware glaze temperatures. Additionally, the firing chamber has been made larger and now measures 14inch in diameter by I8 inches high and a potential RAKU firing time of only ten minutes. All that you need to enable you to biscuit fire are 'saggars'. These are round ceramic boxes measuring approximately 24cm internal diameter and 13 cm deep. One saggar can be used with a kiln shelf for a lid, or two saggars can create a larger firing chamber by placing one on top of the other, measuring approximately 24cm diameter by 26cm high Full instructions accompany every order. Now you can have a fully functioning kiln for a fraction of the price charged by large manufacturers. Prices for Saggars 1 x Saggar with lid £52.00 - Including delivery on U.K. mainland ___________________________ 2 x Saggars with 1 lid £87.00 - Including delivery on U.K. mainland ___________________________
